Planning a wedding takes a tremendous amount of work,  Many of my clients plan their own weddings these days and they seem to do a fairly good job planning, There are others who don’t do so well but in the end… they all have a wonderful and memorable wedding day.

Whether you are planning your wedding yourself or you intend to hire a competent wedding planner (which I highly recommend…) you should be aware of some things before you start to plan.  These things can relieve the pressure leading up to and on your wedding day.

The first thing you should think about before you even look at ANYTHING else is the budget for your wedding.  bridal dresses stores bridal dresses stores Without any idea of how much you plan to spend on your wedding you will not be able to establish the services and amenities you will be able to have for your wedding, If your budget is somewhat small, you will have to trim certain services, amenities and/or guests from your wedding.  You will have to decide which services and amenities are the most important to you and then determine what portion of your budget you are willing to allocate to those services and make concessions on the others, You simply cannot make an educated decision unless you have a budget in place.

Next, you will want to educate yourself on how much things ACTUALLY cost and what you get for the money you pay, It doesn’t matter if you have a tight budget or an unlimited budget.  What matters is what you get for your money.  Think about how important your wedding is and why the quality of products and services matter.  Even (particularly) if you have a tight budget you should always think about quality first, If your food is important to you… you should pay the extra money to hire the best caterer cheap prom dresses cheap prom dresses wedding dresses with sleeves wedding dresses with sleeves, bridal veils If the photography is important to you… you should pay the extra money to hire a professional photographer.  The old cliche’ of “You get what you pay for” couldn’t be more true in the wedding industry, You can always save money by trimming down or eliminating other amenities for your wedding so that you can afford the more important things like the photographer, the dress dress , the food, etc…

Once you have established your budget and have a good grasp on the services and amenities you want for your wedding, you will need to establish a timeline, In my own opinion (it’s ok to disagree), I think you should start planning your wedding at LEAST a full year in advance.  fooddress 2012 summer wedding dresses are of sheer fabric, which will give you a perfect look yet stay in cool in hot summer day!; This will give you plenty of time to establish the who, what, when and where of your wedding.  The earlier you can book your wedding vendors, the better,  Why, Because many times the best wedding vendors (photographers, caterers, officiants, DJs, etc…) are booked up to one full year in advance.  If you wait too long then you may have to settle for whomever is left over.  I am speaking from personal experience… I ONLY book 20 weddings per year and that is it,  My wedding seasons tend to be completely booked by late May and about 25% of my clients book me 6 months a year in advance, The same is true for many other vendors that I know, coctail dresses coctail dresses Remember… your wedding is about quality not quantity.

There’s another reason to start planning your wedding at least one full year in advance… and that is to save your SANITY,  There is SO much involved with planning a wedding and trying to cram it all in over a few small months can lead to a tremendous amount of stress.  The last thing you want on your most special day is to be stressed about how well (or “not-so-well”) you planned your wedding.  Your wedding day is about relaxing and celebrating one of the most cherished days of your life, Planning early and getting all of your vendors lined up early is the best way to plan your wedding.  summer evening dresses ; All of the time spent talking to vendors and booking them can be done with plenty of time to spare leaving you time to think about how you are going to enjoy yourself on your wedding day.

Getting married is a tremendously emotional and exciting experience.  Every bride has her own vision of the “dream wedding” and most times she can get pretty close to her vision if she plans far enough ahead and is realistic about her budget, The most important thing to understand is that a wedding is a once in a lifetime event.  Not always can you have everything you want and perhaps you will have to cut back on certain things so that you can afford the things that matter most to you.  Regardless your budget… you STILL want to have the highest quality services and amenities for your money.  Furthermore, it will not matter how awesome your wedding is if you aren’t happy on your wedding day.  Planning well in advance will help you control your stress levels and create a picture perfect, happy wedding day.
